Ring 313 is proud to announce that Nicholas
Night and Kinga (The Magic Artist) will be lecturing this month on Tuesday,
May 23. If you are not familiar with this act, let me tell you a little about
them. At first one may think Nicholas Night is just an ordinary everyday artist.
Then, suddenly, things begin to get strange. Life imitates art as a spray
painting becomes flesh and blood. A beautiful young model is squeezed onto a
blank canvas and then hung on a line to dry. A menacing sculpture overpowers
it's creator. It's unlike anything ever seen before and there in the
center of it all stands a young man with the power to create his favorite
daydreams. Or his worst nightmares.
Nicholas grew up right here in Orange County. We
worked many years ago at one of the counties few magic shops at the time, Best
Magic in Anaheim. He went from being the manger in the costume and make up
department to rekindling his childhood interest in magic. His wife, Kinga, is
from Budapest, Hungary. She never intended to become a member of the magical
fraternity, she was a fashion model. A chance meeting in New York led to
Nicholas hiring her to be in his act, they have been together ever since. A real
world example of the magic that exists all around us. She became his muse, his
partner, and his wife, and together they are trying to change the face of magic
and the types of venues in which it is performed.
This magical duo have performed in nearly twenty
countries around the world. They traveled to Paris where they won the Golden
Mandrake Award. They have performed in Berlin, Monte Carlo, Tokyo, Las Vegas,
Atlantic City, Rio De Janerio, Cannes, Sydney, and the list goes on. Nicholas
and Kingas' television credits are even more impressive, having appeared on
dozens of programs around the world. You have probably seen their act on such
programs as "Champions of Magic", Fox Families' "Magic on the
Edge", and "The Martin Short Show". Nicholas Night. and Kinga are
currently featured in the April issue of "Magic Magazine", even
appearing on its' cover. They are booked at this years 'FISM 2000' in Lisbon
Portugal and are appearing the week of May 15th through the 21st at The Magic
Castle. So, see there show at the castle and then meet them the very next week!
